Common Vulnerability Enumeration, Common Weakness Enumeration, Common Quality Enumeration – Attempting to systematically catalog the safety and security challenges for modern, networked, software-intensive systems.

Robert A. Martin, Senior Principal Engineer of the MITRE Corporation and member of the Industrial Internet Consortium Steering Committee has dedicated his career to working on solving some of the world’s most difficult problems in systems and software engineering—including cybersecurity, Y2K, and application security and assurance. Much of his work has focused on the interplay of risk management, cybersecurity, and quality assessment and assurance. Over the past 17 years, Martin has applied his expertise to international cybersecurity initiatives such as CVE, CWE, CQE and assurance cases which each have large active vendor and research communities.
