I’ve worked at two different software companies while they were transitioning from small to mid-size. As is common at many small companies, the code review process was informal to non-existent, and as they grew both found it necessary to adopt code review processes. I will present our experience of adopting code reviews, discuss some insights into how to make that transition successful, and some of the challenges we still face. This will be less about technical challenges and more about the social aspects of software engineering.

I’m a software developer currently working in the financial industry. Formerly, I was a developer on IBM’s J9 Java Virtual Machine I’m interested in programming languages, computer history, managed runtimes (a.k.a. virtual machines) and lots of other random stuff.
