Traditionally, the representation of objects is deeply tied to the semantics and implementation of the programming language. Eclipse OMR Om is our attempt at providing a general purpose garbage-collected object model, built on top of the OMR GC. We seek to balance the needs of both static and dynamic data typing with Eclipse OMR Om.

In this talk, we will discuss the implementation and capabilities of Eclipse OMR Om, as well as the trade-offs we faced in its design.

I’m a developer for the Eclipse OMR project.
