Eclipse OMR: Building Blocks for Polyglot
The Eclipse OMR project is a language-agnostic toolkit of open-source runtime components for building and enhancing language runtimes. In this presentation, we will first give an overview of Eclipse OMR, its background and brief history, and the runtime components that have been contributed to Eclipse OMR. This talk will then highlight a number of recent advances in the Eclipse OMR compiler and garbage collection technologies through open-source contributions and research projects. We will conclude with a discussion on the ongoing efforts to grow the community of developers and researchers, talking through potential collaboration ideas built on top of Eclipse OMR and different ways how workshop participants can get involved in the project.
